- What is God saying to you?
- Where is God inviting you to enfold your life?
- What is one thing you can put into practice this week in response?

“Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind. ‘Pooh!’ he whispered. ‘Yes, Piglet?’ ‘Nothing,’ said Piglet, taking Pooh’s paw. ‘I just wanted to be sure of you.’”
Some kids show their emotion easily and a mentor sees or hears the difference they make. However, some kids quietly share the power a mentor makes. They all thrive because someone cares enough to show up for them each week.

I grew up in Holland. I am the youngest and only girl in my family. It was a good spot to be in! I am blessed to be married to Scott and love my kids, Megan, married to Tim, and Jordan, married to Emily, as well as our granddaughter Lucy Joy.
“Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as you ever can.” – John Wesley
I have lived in the Holland area all of my life. I am married to Doug (for over 34 years!) and have been blessed with three children, Heather, Hilarie and Mitchell, and one son-in-law Kyle Cooper! I have a twin sister who looks a lot like me, so if you run into someone who doesn’t seem excited to see you when you say “hi”, it might be her.

Everyone rode bikes to work.
I grew up in Holland, Michigan, where I still live today with my wife Katie, and two daughters Esther and Eliza. In my free time, I enjoy biking, running and most things outdoors.

“I am not where I need to be, but I am sure glad — I am not where I used to be!”
I have lived in Holland most of my life. I have been blessed with one teenage son, Christopher. We have a Chihuahua and her name is “Princess Leia.” My favorite season is summer, love sunshine, warm weather and beaches. My favorite holidays are Christmas and 4th of July. I have worked in the travel industry for 30 years, in many various roles. I have served in VPM Kid Zone for 13 years, in which I have had the privilege of disciplining kids from nursery through 5th grade. I am in AWE of how God continues to give me the courage and wisdom to step out of my comfort zone to do His Kingdom work. The blessings in return far outweigh the risk of taking that step! I pray for God’s help, to be guided and empowered by the holy spirit, inspired and nourished by the living word as he guides me in this role for VPM’s children’s ministry.

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and in high school moved to Encinitas, CA, where I met my future wife, Rachel. We got married and moved to Grand Haven, MI to be near her family. After graduating Western Theological Seminary, I became the Pastor in Residence at VP because I love what God is doing here to empower ordinary people for extraordinary mission. I love biking, running, gardening and eating great food!
