Director of Children’s Ministry

Status: Part Time (15 hours per week); Salary

Level: Program Staff

Reports To: Pastor of Discipleship

Direct Reports: N/A

Guiding Question:

How are we caring for parents and raising kids to know Jesus and follow Him?

Anticipated Average Weekly Breakdown of Hours:

  • 4 hours… Sunday morning (i.e., check-in, parent interaction, volunteer interaction, etc.)
  • 3 hours… VP office (two staff devos and/or staff meeting; other meetings or work, etc.)
  • 3 hours… Scheduling and meeting with volunteers
  • 5 hours… Preparation, planning, communicating, studying

Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify through word and deed the vision, mission, values, and beliefs of VictoryPoint.
  • Help develop a disciple-making strategy for kids ages birth through 5th grade with the Pastor of Discipleship and alongside the Youth Ministry Director.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures, including safety protocols, sanitation guidelines and all screening of children’s ministry volunteers.
  • Serve as the Kid Zone point person on Sunday mornings, roaming rooms to support and care for volunteers.
  • Recruit, schedule, train, empower and communicate with Kid Zone volunteers.
  • Welcome, care for, collaborate with and communicate with Kid Zone parents, helping them develop new ways to disciple their kids throughout the week.
  • Manage expenses and annual budget for children’s ministry.
  • Plan opportunities to assimilate children and adults in mutually beneficial relationships.
  • Seek opportunities to build missional partnerships between our children’s ministry and wider local and global connections.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary or assigned.

Director of Youth Ministry

Status: Part Time (20 hours per week); Salary

Level: Program Staff

Reports To: Pastor of Discipleship

Direct Reports: N/A

Guiding Question:

How are we discipling our teens to know Jesus, follow Him and bring the Kingdom?

Anticipated Average Weekly Breakdown of Hours:

  • 5 hours… Wider church (i.e., morning Gathering, meeting with volunteers)
  • 5 hours… Study & prayer, planning, communicating
  • 5 hours… Time with students in context
  • 4 hours… VP office (two staff devos and/or staff meeting; other meetings or work, etc.)
  • 1 hour… Firestarters big group gathering (spread over 4 weeks)

Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify through word and deed the vision, mission, values, and beliefs of VictoryPoint.
  • Develop and lead a disciple-making strategy for middle and high school students with the Pastor of Discipleship and alongside the Children’s Ministry Director.
  • Plan, facilitate and lead one monthly gathering of some sort (worship night, retreat, party, trip, experience, or event) for all middle and high school students to attend.
  • Ensure each student is invited to a local and relevant huddle or missional community and connected to an adult volunteer leader.
  • Recruit, train & empower and communicate with volunteers to help lead the student ministry consistent with VP’s vision and values.
  • Maintain communication with parents regarding the student ministry.
  • Manage expenses and annual budget for youth ministry.
  • Assist in Sunday Gathering leadership as needed and requested.
  • Perform additional duties as necessary or assigned.
